PIR panels can be used in temperatures ranging from -200°C to +145°C. It has a minimum thermal conductivity of 0.021 w/mk at 10 °C. It is barely water-permeable and resistant to fire. It is appropriate for insulation of equipment, Horton spheres, building roofs and walls, and cold or chilled pipelines. PIR works well as LNG pipe insulation. PIR emits minimal smoke and doesn't leak or melt in a fire.
